Coming off a successful opening tournament weekend winning all five games in Clyde, the Wylie softball team extended their win streak to six with a 7-4 outing over Midland High Monday at Midland.
The battery of Avie Faries and Cameron Gregory held MHS to just four runs. Fairies struck out 10, issued six walks and scattered seven hits over seven innings.
Wylie took the lead in the top of the 6th taking advantage of a Kinsley Turner triple and an error by Midland High. Wylie tallied 12 hits for the game. Olivia Volz went 3-for-4 while Kinsley Turner and Shyla Thompson each hit 2-for-3. Ella Bruning did her part as well with a 2-for-4 performance at the plate.
WHS (6-0) is scheduled to be back on the diamond this Thursday through Saturday, weather permitting, at the Mansfield Tournament.
