Wylie ISD and Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union would like to congratulate the six Wylie High School students selected as the WHS Student-Athletes of the Month for May 2025.

Ella Bruning
Sophomore
Ella was an all-district selection for the Wylie softball team this season. She is also a member of the WHS National Honor Society. She goes to Remington Ridge on Wednesday nights for Bible study and attends Beltway Park South on Sundays. She also plays on a travel softball team out of the DFW metroplex. Ella loves tutoring kids who need help in school. She wants to attend college and hopefully continue playing softball but if that does not work out, she wants to study Psychology at Texas A&M University.

Jayce Castillo
Junior
Jayce is a member of the regional semifinalists Wylie varsity baseball team. He also heavily participates in working out and exercising, hanging with his friends, and listening to music. Jayce is unsure on specific plans after graduation in 2026, but he plans on attending college.

Arabella Dlugiewicz
Junior
Arabella is a member of the Wylie tennis program and helped the Bulldogs to a state runner-up team tennis season in the fall of 2024. She is also a member of the WHS Student-2-Student program and competes in UIL Literary Criticism. Away from school, Arabella works as a lifeguard at Dyess, and she likes to read in her spare time. She plans to go to college and get a bachelor’s degree in either in business or English.

Eli Hall
Senior
Eli is also a member of the Wylie Bulldog varsity tennis program in 2024-2025. Off the court, he like to cook and is active in culinary events. Eli also raises chickens, loves to build things, plays video games, and goes to church at Zion Lutheran. After his time at WHS, Eli plans to attend college to pursue an engineering degree and also hopes to play tennis as well.

Cash Isbell
Junior
Cash participates in both varsity track and varsity football for the Bulldogs. He is also involved in the WHS robotics program. Away from school, Cash owns his own window washing business, and he also enjoys fishing and going mudding. When Cash finishes high school, he’s excited to begin his pre-licensing education to become a realtor.

Kate Powell
Senior
Kate was a regional qualifier in the discus as part of the Wylie track and field program. She’s also involved in the WHS career prep class and works at Venture 19. Outside of school, Kate is on the worship team at Beltway South, and she loves to hang out with friends in her free time. She plans to attend Abilene Christian University next fall.
