Wylie ISD and Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union would like to congratulate the six Wylie High School students selected as the WHS Student-Athletes of the Month for
January 2026.

Morgan Bankhead
Senior
Morgan is a regional qualifier for the Wylie swim team. Outside of WHS, she spends her time attending Pioneer Drive Baptist Church where she is involved in the youth group. Morgan plans to attend the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and pursue a degree in education.

Daniel Fernandes
Senior
Daniel is a member of the Wylie varsity soccer team, and he also competes on the club level for Avanti 07/08. He attends church at First Baptist Church Abilene. After graduation, Daniel plans to go to college and study geology.

Clayton George
Senior
Clayton is a state qualifier for the Wylie swim team, and he also performs in One-Act Play with the WHS theatre department. You can find him attending church at Beltway Park. Clayton is planning to attend Texas Tech University for computer engineering.

Evan Hale
Junior
Evan is in his first season on the Bulldog varsity basketball team. He also enjoys playing basketball with friends outside of school. He attends Beltway Park as well. Evan is undecided on his future plans.

Kamryn Long
Senior
Kamryn plays for the district champion Wylie basketball team and is a varsity cheerleader as well. She is also a member of the WHS National Honor Society. Away from school, you can find her volunteering at All Kind animal shelter, attending church at Beltway South, participating in Attend YoungLife Club, or working out in her spare time. Kamryn plans to attend Abilene Christian University and major in Advertising and Public relations in hopes to pursue a career in the sports industry.

Sarah Martinez
Senior
Sarah is a member of both the Wylie varsity soccer team and the girls track team. She also plays club/travel soccer for Sting ECNL RL NTX G07/08 Pitcock/Salas. Here at WHS, she participates in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is a National Honor Society member. She is also an active member at Holy Family Catholic Church where she volunteers her time. Her hobbies include reading, running, going to the gym, volunteering and baking. Sarah plans to attend Texas A&M University to pursue a degree in Kinesiology and become an athletic trainer.
