Wylie ISD and Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union are proud to recognize six Wylie High School students selected as the WHS Student Athletes of the Month for September 2026.

Brody Anderson
Senior
Brody is a two-sport athlete with the Wylie football and baseball programs. He is also a member of the WHS National Honor Society. Away from school, Brody likes to play golf and hang out with family, and he enjoys watching sports with friends. Brody plans on going to Texas A&M to study Business.

Riley Calvo
Senior
Riley plays as a defensive specialist on the Wylie varsity volleyball team. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Purple Dog Company. Riley participates in her youth group at Holy Family Catholic Church and volunteers for different organizations around town for NHS. She also played club volleyball for Key City Volleyball for 5 years, and she loves being with friends and having movie nights with family. She is not sure about what college to attend, but she plans to study Speech-Language Pathology.

Reese Cave
Junior
Reese is currently on the Wylie varsity volleyball team. She also runs track in the spring. She is also involved in Student-2-Student, is the secretary of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is in National Honor Society She goes to church at Wylie Baptist, volunteers at White River Youth Camp in the summer, participates in club pole vault and loves to read and draw when she has time. Reese plans to study Psychology after graduation.

Tyler Hawks
Senior
Tyler is a member of the state tournament qualifying Wylie tennis team. He is also in the WHS National Honor Society and competes with the robotics team and UIL. Away from school, Tyler attends First Baptist Church Abilene, and he also enjoys model building, 3D printing, hunting, fishing, and movies. He plans to attend college to become an Aerospace Engineer.

Bo Kates
Senior
Bo is a three-year member of the Wylie varsity football team. He is also involved at WHS in PALS, the Purple Dog Company and the National Honor Society. Bo attends Holy Family Catholic Church. After graduation, Bo is heading to Texas A&M to study Biology.

Aden Valdez
Senior
Aden runs for the Wylie varsity cross country team, and when he is not running, he is getting in his steps with the Wylie Pure Gold Marching Band. He goes to Beltway Church, and his favorite hobby is playing both the acoustic and electric guitar. Aden is excited to pursue a college degree in Business.
