Diego Duarte highlighted another successful weekend for the Wylie swim team as the senior broke two meet records in both his individual events at the Monahans Invitational on Saturday.

Duarte broke the meet record in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 21.79. He also set the new standard in the 100 yard butterfly, breaking the 26-year old record held by Wylie's own John Ouimette set in the year 2000. Duarte swam a time of 53.91 to take down the long standing pool record.

Duarte's excellence helped lead the Bulldogs to a boys team finish of 4th place overall. On the girls' side, WHS finished in 5th place.

The Bulldogs' next meet will be the Abilene ISD vs Wylie Dual held at McMurry University on November 10.
