The Wylie Volleyball team took early command and never let up in a district-opening straight set win over Abilene High 25-14, 25-22, 25-13 Friday afternoon at AHS. The win spring boarded the Bulldogs into an early lead in the District 4-5A standings at 1-0.
Aliyah Jowers paced the team with 14 kills, Hannah Hood led the way with 17 assists, and Kat Martinez scored 25 digs during the match.
The Bulldogs (1-0) return to the court on Saturday, September 17 in the district home opener, hosting Abilene Cooper. The varsity match is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.
