Bulldogs VB Take Over Sole Possession of 2nd Place

The Bulldog volleyball team opened the second half of district play with a huge home win over crosstown rival Abilene High 25-22, 26-28, 25-14, 25-20 Tuesday night at Bulldog Gym.

Wesley Ruff was on fire Tuesday night with a team-high 17 and 3.5 blocks. Indiah Maroney contributed with nine kills and 4.5 blocks. Hanna Hood led the team with 24 assists and 13 digs, Kat Martinez added 22 digs, and Brylee Pursley added 22 digs and five service aces.

The win gives WHS sole possession of second place in the district standings as well as the head-to-head tie breaker with the third-place Eagles.

The Bulldogs, 19-17 overall and 5-2 in District 4-5A, are at Abilene Cooper next Tuesday, October 11. The varsity match begins at 6:00 p.m.
