Congrats to the Wylie Bulldog swimming team for an outstanding showing at their first meet of the year, the UTPB Invitational in Odessa.
The WHS boys collected 380 points to secure a second-place team finish while the WHS girls racked up 324 points to place fourth.
On the girl’s side, Tessa Fellona finished in second place in the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly while Rylee Messer placed second in the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard IM. The team of Fellona, Messer, Alicia Correa and Raley Barton won the 200-yard freestyle relay and came in second in the 200-yard medley relay.
For the boys, the team of Jared Heidema, Teagan Dougherty, Joel White and Caden Sauley were second place in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The Bulldog swim teams are back in the pool at the Abilene Invite on Saturday, October 15 at McMurry University.
