The Wylie Bulldog swimmers continued to represent well at the Monahans Invitational last Saturday afternoon as both the men and women claimed third place finishes after a great showing in individual races throughout the day.
Rylee Messer paced the women’s team with a win in the 500-yard freestyle, a third place in the 50-yard freestyle as well as two top six finishes in relay events. She along with teammates Raley Barton, Lexie Kidman and Roxane Islas claimed fourth place in the 200-yard medley relay and third in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Kidman also placed second in the 500-yard freestyle.
For the men, the team of Joel White, Benjamin Jackson, Teagan Dougherty, Jared Heidema claimed third in the 400-yard freestyle relay while teammates Caedan Hyde, Clayton George, Maddox Guillen, JT Partin followed in sixth. Heidema also finished in second in the 100-yard freestyle and third in the 200-yard freestyle.
The Bulldog swim teams will compete again at the San Angelo Invitational on Friday, October 28.
