It was a doubleheader sweep of basketball action Tuesday night at Bulldog Gym as Wylie won two tough, competitive games versus their new district 4-5A crosstown rival Abilene High.
The Lady Bulldogs beat the Lady Eagles for the second time in 2022-2023 as Caroline Steadman hit four three-pointers and scored a team-high 12 points. WHS outscored the visitors 19-8 in the second half to seal the win.
For the guys, Isaiah Carrillo scored 15 points and Martin Marshall added 11 in the Bulldogs 54-45 win. The team shot 15 for 19 from the free throw line, including 9-10 with the game on the line in the fourth quarter.
The teams have Friday night off as their open date. They return to the court on Tuesday, January 24 when they travel across town to Abilene Cooper. The girls tip at 6:00 p.m. followed by the guys.
