The Wylie Girls soccer team fought hard versus some of the best talent from the metroplex this weekend in the Highway 5 Showcase at Melissa High School. The Lady Bulldogs started the weekend with a 3-3 tie versus Aledo before dropping to tough matches to Mesquite Poteet and Frisco Liberty.

“The Lady Bulldogs played great soccer against some great teams this weekend,” said WHS head coach Maddie Martin. “We improved every day and learned lessons that we will carry with us into this district season. I’m very proud of our efforts from both teams this weekend.”

The Wylie girls are now 4-5-3 on the year. Their next match is scheduled for Tuesday, January 24 at San Angelo Central. The varsity starts at 7:00 p.m.

District play starts this Friday, January 27 at Abilene High.
