After Mother Nature won the opening day of the Iowa Park Tournament, the Wylie softball team stepped on the diamond and grabbed two wins through the remainder of the weekend.
The Bulldogs started Friday with a 15-2 victory over Breckenridge and then shut out Canyon on Saturday by a final of 5-0.
Halli Russell picked up two more wins in the pitching circle for WHS as she collected 11 strikeouts combined in the two games she pitched. Hanna Hood, Kat Martinez, Jadyn Fernandez, Mycala Reed and Rylee Moore put together nice offensive performances at the plate.
WHS (15-4) starts District 4-5A play this Tuesday, March 7 at Abilene High. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
