WHS Softball Splits a Pair During Break

The Wylie softball team split a pair of district games during the spring break weekend, beating Abilene Cooper 7-4 on Thursday before falling at Monterey on Saturday in extra innings, 4-3.

WHS put up four runs in the fourth inning versus Cooper to take control against their cross-town rivals. Rylee Moore picked up the win in the pitching circle while Jadyn Fernandez and Cameron Gregory provided two hits apiece.

On Saturday, pitcher Reese Farrar battled all day for the Lady Bulldogs as she struck out 14 Lady Plainsmen batters.

WHS is 18-5 on the season and now sit at 2-1 in District 4-5A. They’re back on the diamond this Tuesday, March 21 when they host Lubbock High. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
