Congratulations to the Wylie girls golf team who qualified for the Region 1-5A Tournament after finishing as the runner-up at the District 4-5A Tournament Monday in Abilene.

The Lady Bulldogs followed a strong first round of play last week at the Rawls Course in Lubbock with a solid outing Monday at Diamondback Golf Course in Abilene. Their two-round team score put them behind Lubbock Cooper in second place.

Individually, Wylie's Amelie Liew won the district championship with a two-round score of 160 (85-75). Teammates Kiara Fierro and Brighton Diller also placed in the top 10 individuals to earn all-district recognition.

WHS will compete in the Region 1-5A Tournament on April 17-18 at the Rawls Course in Lubbock.
