Wylie ISD and Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union would like to congratulate the six Wylie High School students selected as the WHS Student-Athletes of the Month for September:
EVAN ASHLEY
Senior
Evan is a four-year member of the Wylie High cross country and track programs. Evan is a member of the WHS National Honor Society, and in his free time he loves to volunteer, play basketball, run, listen to music, watch sports and work on or drive his truck. Evan plans to attend a four-year university and graduate with a bachelor’s degree.
MALACHI DANIELS
Senior
Malachi is in his third season as a member of the Wylie Bulldog varsity football team. He is also involved in basketball and track. Malachi attends church at Beltway, and he enjoys creating art in his free time. Malachi plans to attend Texas State University where he will major in Biology and pursue Medical School.
BRI JOHNSTON
Senior
Bri is one of six seniors on the Wylie volleyball team in 2023. She is also a member of the WHS National Honor Society and participates in the HOSA Future Health Professionals organization and the CNA program. Outside of school, Bri attend Beltway South church. She plans to play volleyball at McPherson College while majoring in Nursing.
SUHEJLA QINAMI
Senior
Suhejla is a four-year member of the Wylie tennis program. Outside of school, you can find her working at Joes or volunteering at Wyllie tennis summer camps. Suhejla plans to attend Texas Tech University and major in the kinesiology undergraduate program for physical therapy.
ROZLYN RUMSEY
Senior
You can find Rozlyn excelling in the cross country program during the fall, then again in soccer and track during the spring. Outside of school, Rozlyn attends church, plays club soccer and volunteers at soccer camps for kids. After Wylie High, Rozlyn plans to continue her education in college.
TREVOR SHORT
Senior
Trevor has been a four-year member of the Wylie tennis program. He is also involved in the Purple Dog Company, a student-operated business created out of WHS’s Business management course. Outside of school, Trevor gives tennis lessons to upcoming players - both new and some going into high school. Trevor plans to attend college and major in business management while hopefully continuing his tennis career as well.
