Wylie ISD and Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union would like to congratulate the six Wylie High School students selected as the WHS Student-Athletes of the Month for December:
Diego Duarte
Freshman
Diego is a member of both the Wylie swim and soccer programs. He is also a member of the of the WHS Choir. Away from school, Diego enjoys working out every day as a hobby, he works at the YMCA as a childcare mentor, and he attends church at Holy Family. Diego is focused on improving in swimming and soccer with hopes to apply for athletic scholarships to pay for college.
Ethan Jackson
Senior
Ethan is a member of the Wylie varsity soccer team. His hobbies include hiking when I time allows him to do it as well as listening and learning music in his free time. After graduation from WHS, Ethan hopes to continue his education at the University of Texas in Austin and major in Psychology.
Alexis LaCroix
Senior
Alexis participates on both the Wylie varsity basketball and track teams. She is also active in the WHS PAL’S (Peer Assistance Leadership Students) mentor group. She attends church at Beltway Park and enjoys working out at The Performance Lab. Alexis also volunteers for Pregnancy Resources and at the AYSA. After WHS, she plans to attend college and earn a degree in exercise science and physiology and then hopes to become a sports psychologist and work with female college athletes.
Rylee Messer
Junior
Rylee competes for the WHS swim team. Outside of Wylie, you can find her working at Starbucks or going to church at Heavenly Rest, and she loves baking, swimming, shopping, and traveling. After WHS, Rylee plans to attend Abilene Christian University or another school where she can continue to swim. She eventually wants to move back to her hometown in California.
Jalen Whisenhunt
Senior
Jalen is on the WHS varsity basketball team. When he is not in the gym, Jalen is working at JC Penney’s, hanging out with his family or working out. After high school, he plans to major in business at Prairie View A&M University and then work go in medical sales with his dad.
Chloe Williams
Senior
Chloe competes for the Wylie soccer team and participates in HOSA at WHS. Outside of school, she attends church at Beltway Park and plays club soccer for the Sting. She spends many of her free weekends working on the family farm and ranch or helps Joe Allen’s with catering events. Next year, Chloe plans to attend the University of Mary Hardin Baylor to play soccer and study nursing.
