It was a record-breaking weekend for the Wylie boys golf team as the Bulldogs shot a team total of 290 on Saturday at the West Texas Classic in Odessa, setting a new school record for lowest round scored as a team. The previous low round recorded was a 294 in 2008.
Their Saturday scored combined with Friday’s opening round of 309 placed WHS in fifth place for the weekend, the third time in three events that the Bulldogs have placed in the top five.
Wylie finished behind Mansfield, two teams from Highland Park and Andrews.
Individually, Casen James (14th Place) and Jack Curington (19th Place) finished in the top 20.
The Bulldogs wrap up their fall schedule at the Granbury Pirate Fall Invitational on October 18-19.
