The Wylie swim team showed midseason form at the Andrews Sprint Extravaganza last weekend as the Bulldogs won nine of 24 events and took second place in 10 of the 24 events. The individual success helped lead both the WHS men and women's teams to second place finishes out of the eight competing teams.

The Lady Bulldogs were led by Julia Delauney who won both of her individual events in the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter freestyle. Maria Brigino also had a first place finish in the 100 IM. Morgan Bankhead had two solid second place finishes in the 100 free and 200 free.

On the men's side, Ben Jackson won both his individual events in the 25-meter freestyle and 50-meter freestyle. Josh Heidema (100 free) and Laton Thompson (200 free) both had first place finishes in each of their individual events.

The Bulldog relay teams won the women's 100-meter medley relay which consisted of Raley Barton, Maria Brigino, Julia Delauney, and Morgan Bankhead. The men's 200-meter freestyle relay (Diego Duarte, Laton Thompson, Josh Heidema, and Ben Jackson) would also cap off the meet with a first place finish.

Wylie is back in the pool October 25-26 in San Angelo.
