The Bulldog volleyball train rolled to another district win on Friday night, and now the team is one win away from an undefeated district championship.

WHS beat Abilene High in straight sets 25-16, 25-23, 25-13. The straight-set victory is the sixth in seven district matches.

Aliyah Jowers paced the team with 15 kills, 11 digs and two aces while Haddie Mock and Avery LaCroix added 10 kills apiece. Callie O’Connell led with 20 assists while Kenley Collier added 19 assists and four aces. Ella Heuerman also scored 10 digs and two aces.

The Bulldogs have now won eight matches in a row which includes a perfect 7-0 record in District 4-5A. WHS will play for a district title this Tuesday, October 29 with a home match versus Wichita Falls Memorial. The varsity begins at 6:00 pm from WHS’s Bulldog Gym.

Tuesday is senior night where the program will celebrate the eight seniors on the team: Taylar Riley, Ella Heuerman, Kaylin Dahl, Callie O’Connell, Jaydin Dahl, Brighton Diller, Aliyah Jowers and Aniah Richardson.
