Volleyball Stays Unbeaten in District, Beats Abilene Cooper

It was a successful district home opener for the Wylie volleyball team as the Bulldogs took down their south-town showdown foes Abilene Cooper on Saturday afternoon at Bulldog Gym 25-19, 21-25, 25-10, 28-26. The win keeps WHS perfect in the District 4-5A play at 2-0.

Bri Johnston led the way with eight kills, Bryleee Pursley added seven kills and Wesley Ruff tallied seven kills as well. Callie O’Connell led the way with 15 assists and four aces, Hanna Hood added 12 assists, and Kat Martinez tallied 30 digs.

The Bulldogs (2-0) are back on the road Tuesday as they travel to Lubbock Monterey. The varsity match first serves at 6:00 p.m.
