Mycala Reed popped a two-run home run in the second inning – the first of her four hits and four RBI on the night – as the Wylie softball team celebrated senior night in style with a 9-1 victory versus Lubbock Cooper Friday night at WHS.

Reed’s HR paced an offensive attack that scored in four of their six innings and racked up 11 hits. Reese Farrar added two hits and Jadyn Fernandez two RBI in the win.

Rylee Moore went four innings of scoreless work in the pitching circle, striking out six and earning the win. Farrar closed the door pitching the final three innings in relief.

The win capped off a great night of celebration as the softball program recognized the eight seniors of 2023 - Rylee Moore, Kat Martinez, Kandace Gilcrease, Reese Farrar, Hanna Hood, Kylee Rodriguez, Nylah Alvarado, and Jadyn Fernandez.

The Lady Bulldogs have wrapped up the regular season at 26-6 and enter the playoffs as the number two seed out of District 4-5A. The team will start the bi-district playoffs this weekend versus Plainview.
