In what has been a gauntlet of a non-district schedule for the 2024 Wylie volleyball team – 32 matches with 23 of those on the road – the Bulldogs played one of their most impressive matches of the season in their final tune-up before District 4-5A play by defeating Stephenville in five games 25-22, 20-25, 28-26, 20-25, 15-13.
The widespread front row attack led by Haddie Mock with 17 kills and 3 blocks paced WHS to victory. Aliyah Jowers collected 13 kills and two blocks while Jenna Strickland and Kiki Bolden added nine kills apiece.
Callie O’Connell led with 24 assists while Kenley Collier chipped in 22 assists and four aces. Logan Hill also added four aces, and Brighton Diller led with 14 digs.
The Bulldogs now open District 4-5A this Friday, September 27 with a home match versus Abilene Cooper. The varsity is set to first serve at 5:00 pm from WHS’s Bulldog Gym.
