Congratulations to the members of the Wylie Girls Powerlifting team who qualified for the Texas High School Powerlifting Association state meet after placing at the regional meet March 3-4 in Monahans.
WHS is sending eight lifters to the state meet after each qualified in their respective weight class. Marissa Moschetto, Kerah Wier and Jazlyn Landeros all won their class. Moschetto and Wier also set new regional records in the bench press and total combined weight lifted.
Lifters combine their total weight of three lifts - bench press, squat and dead lift - for a final total score.
The WHS powerlifters will compete at the THSPA state meet on March 17-18 in Frisco.
