Wylie ISD and Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union would like to congratulate the six Wylie High School students selected as the WHS Student-Athletes of the Month for January:

Morgan Bankhead
Sophomore
Morgan is a first year WHS student who has made an immediate impact contributing to the success of the Wylie swim team. She is also involved in the child development and floral design programs at school, and away from campus you’ll find Morgan engaged in the Pioneer Drive Baptist Church youth group. She plans to attend college and pursuing a career in counseling.

Lucy Fulton
Senior
Lucy is one of the senior leaders on the Wylie soccer team this season, and also you’ll find her leading her club soccer team as well. In her free time, she volunteers her time serving the Meals on Wheels non-profit organization. Lucy plans to attend McMurry University where she will continue her playing career in soccer.

Rodrigo Jurado
Senior
Rodrigo has become a natural fit in his first year at Wylie High School and as a member and a leader of the Bulldog soccer program. Away from WHS, Rodrigo attends Holy Family Church, volunteers helping special needs students learn to play soccer, works at Chick fil A, and enjoys a day fishing at the local lake. Rodrigo looks forward to continuing his education in college.

Kyla Kelley
Senior
Kyla continues to be a contributor and leader in the WHS basketball program, leading both on the court as a player and off the court assisting Coach Powell with day-to-day logistics of the athletic program. She attends Merkel Church of Christ. After graduation, Kyla wants to attend Cisco College before transferring to the Texas Tech Nursing School to become a NICU nurse.

Martin Marshall
Senior
Martin is a three-year member and major contributor on the Wylie varsity basketball team. Away from the gym, you’ll find Martin serving elementary students through the WHS PALs (Peer Assistance and Leadership) organization. He goes to church at Beltway Park and occasionally volunteers at Meals on Wheels as well. Martin plans to attend Tarleton State University and major in Biology.

Tiegan Pacheco
Junior
Tiegan is a three-year member of the WHS swim team successfully competing in an array of events. Outside of the pool, he enjoys hitting the local disc golf courses or finding the weight room for a good lift. Tiegan is excited to go to college and pursue a degree in social media marketing.
