Wylie ISD and Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union would like to congratulate the six Wylie High School students selected as the WHS Student-Athletes of the Month for November 2024.
Cade Burk
Senior
Cade is a starting offensive lineman for the 2024 district champion Bulldog football team, and he participates in track & field during the spring. You’ll also find him involved in the new dice club. Outside of school, Cade works at Capriotti's. He excited to pursue new opportunities in college next year.
Julia DeLauney
Junior
Julia is a regional qualifier for the Wylie swim team and has been involved in the WHS student council. Julia will take any chance to be outside in nature as she enjoys buying individual flowers and plants and arranging them for close family and friends. She is currently self-learning a psychology class, and she volunteers helping local businesses in what they need help getting done. Julia plans to attend college to pursue a career in the nursing field.
Ethan Hoffmann
Senior
Ethan is a starting linebacker for the 2024 district champion football team, and he competes in track & field in the spring. Away from school, he attends church at Holy Family Catholic Church, and he coaches as well as helps manage the youth fitness programs at the YMCA. Ethan plans to attend college either UTSA or Texas State University and major in business finance or accounting.
Casen James
Senior
Casen is a regional qualifier for the Wylie boys golf program, and he participates in the WHS Dog Pack program. Outside of school, Casen is involved with church and a youth Bible study group, and he volunteers at Tim Tebow’s Night to Shine event which is hosted at his church. After high school, Casen plans to attend TCU and major in accounting and finance.
Amelie Liew
Senior
Amelie excels on the golf course as a regional qualifier for the WHS girls golf team. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, the Unified Bulldogs program, the Special Olympics Regional Youth Leadership Council and MedLife. Away from Wylie, Amelie is a mentor in the Big Brother Big Sister program and her family has hosted two foreign exchange students. She plans to attend the University of Texas and pursue pre-med.
Laton Thompson
Junior
Laton is a regional qualifier in swimming and a member of the WHS National Honor Society, and you’ll find him playing video games when he’s outside of school. Laton is excited to pursue college and become EMT certified. His future plans include joining the military as an officer and become a firefighter in the military.
